Anton J. Johnson, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Johnson completed his Medical
education at the University of Minnesota combined
MD/Ph.D. Program in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He
completed his Diagnostic Radiology Residency at the
University of Minnesota and his Nuclear Medicine
Fellowship at the Mallinckrodt Institute of
Radiology in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Johnson
subsequently joined Springfield Radiologists, S.C.
in July 1997. He is certified by the American Board
of Radiology and the American Board of Nuclear
Medicine. Dr. Johnson has been involved in numerous
National and Illinois Societies and continues to be
active in this arena. He provides radiologic
services to St. John’s Hospital as well as
additional medical facilities in and surrounding the
Springfield community. In Dr. Johnson’s spare time
he enjoys playing the guitar in a “jazz-fusion” band
called “Dreaming In Colour”. Back in Minneapolis he
was lead guitarist for “Morris Day and The Time” and
left to attend Medical School.
